PAUL CARTER GOODNOW was born in Providence Rhode Island in 1958. A painter, carver and gilder. He studied gilding in Boston with Nils Johnson and took art classes in Providence at Rhode Island School of Design and the Providence Art Club. Later he received instruction in oil painting from John Loughlin.

Paul is an elected member of the following: The Rockport Art Association in Rockport Massachusetts, The Lyme Art Association in Lyme Connecticut and The North Shore Art Association in Gloucester Massachusetts. He is also a member of the Connecticut Plein Aire Painters Society.

Paul has won several awards for his paintings and regularly participates in shows throughout New England and New York. His Paintings and frames hang in many collections.
