DAVID P. CURTIS
OUTDOOR OIL
WORKSHOP
September 26 - 28
David has been teaching the art of plein air painting for over a decade. He believes plein air painting is predominantly about the art of seeing. In teaching, Curtis strives to inspire, as well as instruct, students in the fundamentals of painting out of doors. Curtis stresses the art of composing from nature with it's ever changing moods of light and weather and how to interpret light and atmosphere through the use of color, brush and canvas. This offers students a challenge, whatever their artistic experience, plus the stimulus to create their own work

LOU BONAMARTE
OUTDOOR WATERCOLOR
WORKSHOP
October 3 - 5
This workshop is about the fun of painting outdoors, while at the same time learning about watercolor and some easy ways to express yourself in this elusive medium. Students will learn how to get started with selecting a subject and how to make that very first stroke with the brush count. Lou will also teach about color, value and arranging the elements you choose to paint. The focus will be on enjoying the pleasures of
plein air painting. The importance of drawing will also be emphasized, including some common sense ways to draw the scene that you want
to paint.

HAGOP KELEDGIAN
INDOOR OIL STILL LIFE WORKSHOP

October 31 - November 2
This "Alla Prima Impressions" workshop will consist of technical, emotional and intellectual approaches to oil painting from still life. Daily demonstrations will be followed by one on one instruction and critiques. Students will focus on basic aspects of drawing value and color with their initial exploration of the chosen subject, specifically the value tone, edges and temperature of the light source. This focus will carry throughout the design to emphasize the subject's center of interest and manipulation of the paint application, as a mosaic of harmonic color notes. Hagop (Jack) will help students to create a complete statement on the canvas and to finish their painting.

Three-day workshops are $250 for RAA members / $275 for non-members.
