Painting From The Masters
2 Day Workshop ~ 9:00am-3:30pm
March 3rd - 4th |
|
|
David will instruct an indoor workshop based
on observing and utilizing the technique of Rockport Art
Association's finest painters, among them: Aldro T. Hibbard, N.A.,
Anthony Thieme, Marguerite Pearson, and W. Lester Stevens, N.A.
Copying from the masters is a time-honored tradition in the art
world, as students use their observational skills to emulate the
methods of those artists who have gone before. Students will
find that when they study how successful artists have created
their canvases, their own work will benefit from that acquired
knowledge. |

The One Hour Painting Workshop
2 Day Workshop
April 21st - 22nd |
|
|
If you want to “let go” a little and loosen
up your paintings, this workshop is for you! We will explore
the practice of creating a painting from start to finish in
one hour, teaching you how to simplify the process, and be
able to “say a lot with a little”. Through demos, exercises,
and “timed” one hour group painting sessions, you will learn
how to use generous, quick, well placed strokes that will
give you fresher, simpler, more effective paintings. We will
work from simple still lives and photos. Demos are in oil,
although the lessons may be applied to acrylics as well. The
method I use produces results for both beginners and
experienced painters, so there is no fear! An understanding
of the materials would be helpful. |
