COLOR THEORY AND PRACTICE WITH SUSANNE WHITE

COLOR THEORY AND PRACTICE WITH SUSANNE WHITE

from 85.00

Saturday, October 26, 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM
RAA&M Members: $85  /  Non-Members: $100
Registration Deadline: October 19

Whatever the medium or style, color is usually a major component in art.

So, what do you do with color? There are infinite possibilities! This class is designed to help you to interpret what you see (if you’re a realist), or what you think (if you’re not). Artists need to sort out what we know from what we actually see or want to create.

For instance, we know that snow is white, but it is also cream, yellow, lavender, grey and blue. Is black actually black, or can it be purple, blue or is it infused with red?

Susanne will discuss sunlight and shadow, using color opposites and harmonies, recognizing and interpreting color that you see, the “feelings” you can create with color, and color mixing with paint.

We will experiment and work from a still life in the studio. Participants may work in any medium.

All levels welcome. A list of suggested materials will be provided in advance.
Registration Deadlines: Participants must register by the listed deadline – one week prior to the workshop.
Cancellation policy: Up to 7 days prior – any payment minus $50. Tuition will not be refunded after this 7 day period. This policy is strictly enforced.

To register, you may pay: online; by phone 978-546-6604 with a credit card; or by mail with a check made payable to Rockport Art Association & Museum, 12 Main Street, Rockport, MA (please put the name of the workshop in the Memo).
