2752 Fiction, Lisa Daria Kennedy, Acrylic

Saturday and Sunday, April 6 - 7, 2019
 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Registration Deadline: March 30, 2019

This workshop will embrace the painting process and the importance of daily practice as a path to improving creativity and image making skills. Over the course of the workshop students will paint approximately 10 panels, guided by an artist who has made over 3,500 daily, consecutive, paintings - so far! A combination of demos, in-class assignments and individual instruction will teach students techniques to create fresh, deliberate marks. Using acrylic or oil paint students will discover approaches to simplify the process of painting and ways to stay inspired and motivated.

Lisa Daria Kennedy grew up along the northeast edge of the Hockomock Swamp in Massachusetts. Since 2009, she has committed to an on-going daily painting project. As a young adult cancer survivor, she discovered living is not just surviving. Each painting seeks to give a voice to the fiber of the everyday.

Kennedy received a BA from Roger Williams University, a BFA and MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Currently she is the Design Editor for the literary publication, Mount Hope and an Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, MA.
