My intention with this demonstration is to show the fusing of two disciplines: observation and invention.

When we study the sea, it requires repetitive observation and the subsequent understanding that comes from this observation.

The sea, in its ever changing condition and circumstances, requires that those of us who choose to portray it understand its kinetic nature.

Once there is some understanding of the nature of the sea, our artistry can be employed to add aesthetic to the observation in the creation of a painted rendition of the sea.
