This 5-day landscape workshop will cover the importance of composition, design and color harmony.  The workshop is designed to show how to take a tonal painting and build layers of color and harmonize in an unusual approach to creating successful paintings.

There will be demonstrations that will talk about techniques I use to create atmosphere and details to completing a finished painting. Demonstrations and one to one assistance will energize each student with developing their own unique style.

Cindy Baron is a nationally recognized painter working in both oil and watercolor, known for her luminous interpretations of western mountain landscapes and coastal shorelines. Raised in South Bend, Indiana, Cindy began her art training at a young age and went on to study and paint throughout the United States, developing a versatile practice grounded in strong observation and expressive color.

Cindy is among a select group of artists to hold top recognition in multiple major organizations. She is a Master Signature Member of Oil Painters of America and a Signature Member of the American Watercolor Society, American Impressionist Society, Plein Air Painters of America, and the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. Her work has received numerous national awards, including multiple Awards of Excellence from Oil Painters of America and Best in Show honors at the Laguna Plein Air Invitational.

A dedicated plein air painter and highly sought-after instructor, Cindy teaches workshops across the country and internationally, and has taught in the Continuing Education program at the Rhode Island School of Design. She is known for her generous, clear teaching style and her ability to help students understand color, atmosphere, and design across mediums. Her work has been widely featured in publications including PleinAir MagazineSouthwest ArtThe Artist Magazine, and Stephen Doherty’s The Art of Plein-Air Painting.

Cindy’s paintings reflect a deep appreciation for the subtleties of light and color found in nature—from dramatic weather to quiet, everyday moments—bringing a sense of vitality and harmony to each subject she paints.


Cancelation Policy for CASSOA Workshops: Up to two weeks (fourteen days) prior to the start of a workshop, participants may cancel and request a refund, minus a non-refundable $100 registration fee. Tuition will not be refunded after this two-week period. This policy is strictly enforced.
