My artistic method is quite simple. My eye catches the color and light of a particular scene, then triggers an inspiration to record and interpret the beauty and impact that it brings to me. For best results, my oil paintings begin in plein air, where I spent two to four hours recording composition, colors, and forms. I then finish my work in the studio, relying on memory and photographs to assist me in refining my thoughts in producing the finished painting. I prefer depicting nature because its unpredictable and often fleeting qualities give greater play to the imagination.
