Marian Colman

Marian Colman has been an artist and art educator for more than 40 years. She has an MAE from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth and has taught K-12 Visual Arts in Colorado and Massachusetts. She retired as an instructor in the Art Education department of the University of Minnesota-Duluth where she taught watercolor and mentored pre-service art education students.
Marian discovered watercolor in 1988 while studying with Jane A’Lee Heyerdahl at Cape Cod Community College. The love of the medium continues to challenge and inspire her. Her passion lies in painting the light and atmosphere of the coastal areas of Cape Cod and Cape Ann. She has studied with Cheng Khee Chee, John Salminen, Dale Latinen, Andy Evansen and Tom Hoffman. She is a member of the Falmouth Art center, the South Cape Artists, the Barnstable Plein Air Painters and a juried artist member of both the Cape Cod Art Association and the Rockport Art Association.
