Shells are endlessly fascinating, with an incredible variety of their forms, patterns and colors, making them great subjects to draw. Join me for this 2-hour online workshop where we’ll explore techniques for capturing them with pencil and paper, focusing particularly on the three-dimensional “architecture” of the shell and using shading to capture volume and depth. Class size will be limited, allowing ample time for individual feedback.
All skill levels are welcome. The group will be limited to 12 participants. Erica will send you an invite with the Zoom link before the meeting.
Supplies:
• a multipurpose sketchbook or drawing paper (preferably 9 x 12 in. or larger)
• drawing pencils of different hardness (HB, 2B or softer)
• pencil sharpener
• 1 gray kneaded eraser
• 1 white plastic eraser
Optional supplies: Pens
