Magic Tricks: Using Shading to Capture Volume, Depth & Texture: Join us to explore shading techniques, the key to creating the illusion of depth, volume and texture on a flat piece of paper – the “magic tricks” part of drawing! We’ll explore a variety of approaches to bringing your drawings to life, look closely at examples, and have plenty of time for drawing and individual feedback.
All skill levels are welcome. The group will be limited to 12 participants. Erica will send you an invite with the Zoom link before the meeting.
Supplies:
• a multipurpose sketchbook or drawing paper (preferably 9 x 12 in. or larger)
• drawing pencils of different hardness (HB, 2B or softer)
• pencil sharpener
• 1 gray kneaded eraser
• 1 white plastic eraser
Optional supplies: Pens
