Layer & Glaze Oil Painting – Workshop with Todd Bonita

  • Rockport Art Association & Museum 12 Main Street Rockport, MA 01966 United States (map)

Saturday, March 7, 2026, 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Registration Deadline: February 21

$120 RAA&M Members
$155 Non-Members

This one day, intensive painting class will introduce you to the classical techniques of grissaille underpaintings and oil glazing.  We will complete a single painting using an umber and white underpainting, then move on to glazing techniques with thin, transparent washes of color to achieve a luminous affect.  Throughout the workshop, we’ll take time to analyze the elements of drawing, design, and value sensitivity. Our goal is to simplify the painting process and create a work with mood, atmosphere and poetic depth. This workshop is packed with time-tested information, with techniques invaluable to beginners and advanced painters alike.

All skill levels welcome. Space is limited.

Suggested Materials
